The Rolling Stones

Martin Scorsese’s “Shine a Light,” an IMAX film celebrating The Rolling Stones is absolutely phenomenal! Julie and I had a great time and came away saying that it was better than being at a live concert. With flashbacks to the Stones’ beginnings and concerts and interviews through the years, the film is a 2 hour adrenaline rush. Appearing with the Stones were Buddy Guy, Jack White, and Christina Aguilera. Yet, it seemed like the cameras couldn’t stay off of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.

Filmed at the Beacon Theatre in New York City, the concert/movie is an extraordinary piece of work. Because of Scorsese’s directorial genius in setting up the multiple cameras, the viewers are able to go anywhere on the stage with the band. The film editing by David Tedeschi is Oscar-nominee caliber.

See “Shine a Light” and get some “sa-tis-fact-ion.”
